Student Creates Synthetic Leaf That Uses Real Photosynthesis To Produces Fresh Oxygen

Julian Melchiorri, a graduate student at the Royal College of Art designs the world’s first synthetic photosynthesizing material. The “Silk Leaf Project” uses silk fibers in combination with chloroplasts from plant cells to create a material that absorbs CO2 and produces fresh oxygen.
